Coroner IDs pedestrian dead after being hit by van
LAS VEGAS (AP) -- Authorities have identified a 79-year-old pedestrian who died this week after being hit by a minivan in the southwest part of the Las Vegas valley.
Clark County coroner's officials say Russell Lake Newell died of his injuries after the crash about 8:45 a.m. Monday on Blue Diamond Road and Edmond Street. That's near Decatur Boulevard.
Troopers say the minivan stayed on the scene.
