Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Two people are dead after a crash on U.S. 95 near Lee Canyon Road Friday afternoon.

Nevada Highway Patrol troopers said the head-on collision involving two pickup trucks happened at about 3:50 p.m. in the southbound lanes of U.S. 95.

Both vehicles involved were pick-up trucks. Both drivers were killed. There were no passengers in either truck.

Troopers shut down the southbound lanes of U.S. 95 and diverted traffic for several hours.

Investigators remained on the scene into the night, working to determine the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Troopers said they received a call shortly before the crash reporting a wrong-way driver on U.S. 95.

It appeared both drivers were traveling at about 75 MPH.
