Bail set for men involved in elevator attack on Las Vegas Strip
LAS VEGAS (AP) -- A Las Vegas judge has set bail at $250,000 each for two men accused in the stabbing of a hotel guest in a Las Vegas Strip resort elevator.
Trent Wilcox and Carlos Heredia made their first appearance in Las Vegas Justice Court Wednesday on attempted murder charges. Prosecutor Michael Radovcic cited the severity of the Saturday morning attack and said there was videotape evidence of it.
Police say a male tourist was hospitalized with more than 10 stab wounds in the attack at The Hotel at Mandalay Bay. The man's wife told police that 25-year-old Wilcox and 23-year-old Heredia appeared drunk and provoked the attack.
An MGM Resorts International spokesman says hotel security responded quickly and held the two until police arrived.
An evidentiary hearing is set for March 6.
