Family sheds light on woman stabbed to death
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Family members are mourning the loss of a woman stabbed to death with a kitchen knife on Sunday night, allegedly at the hands of her boyfriend.
They identify the woman as 49-year-old Sharon Jones of California. She was a mother of four.
Sharon's family said she was visiting Las Vegas with her boyfriend.
The two attended a birthday party at a Chuck E. Cheese's on Sunday before heading back to a relative's home near Maryland Parkway and Serene.
Shortly after, they reportedly began fighting. That's when police and family members say Sharon's boyfriend grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed her 17 times.
Now, her family is trying to make sense of it all while cherishing Sharon's memory.
"She was always the one to make you laugh when you were having a bad day," said Sharon's niece, Zakeyaha Amacker. "She was an awesome person."
"It's hard to believe at this moment," said Sharon's aunt, Antoinette Gaffney. "...she's gone."
Sharon's boyfriend was arrested at the scene, but local police have not yet identified him.
