Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- The Springs Preserve celebrated Black History Month Saturday by paying tribute to "Mr. Las Vegas."

George Wallace was recognized for his contributions to the Las Vegas community over the last decade.

Among his many charitable efforts, Wallace is an active participant with the Smile Train Organization.

They help fund surgery to repair cleft lips of children in need

Wallace spoke Saturday about those who came before him to help shape Las Vegas.

The Springs Preserve also made a donation to the Smile Train Organization in Wallace's honor.
