Hundreds take the plunge to benefit Special Olympics Nevada
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Hundreds of local residents took the plunge Saturday to benefit Special Olympics Nevada.
The annual Polar Plunge took place at the South Point Hotel, Casino and Spa.
Locals plunged into the chilly pool at the hotel, all for Special Olympics.
Proceeds will help athletes participate in competitions around the country.
"We've got over 3,000 children and adults right here in Southern Nevada, and most of the people out here aren't even really part of our program, they're just people in the community who want to give back and have a great time doing it," said Maggie Schwarz with Special Olympics Nevada.
Saturday's plunge also featured a costume contest.
Action News Anchor Tina Patel was a judge on the panel.
