Las Vegas constable accused of drunk driving
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- The head of the Las Vegas Township Constable's office has been arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.
The Nevada Highway Patrol said Constable John Bonadventura was arrested Tuesday night, after a caller reported a constable vehicle driving erratically on U.S. 95 near Boulder Highway.
Bondventura was pulled over for speeding, and then given a field sobriety test, which he failed.
He was booked into the Clark County Detention Center under charges of DUI.
Clark County commissioners are set to propose abolishing Bonadventura's office, which has about two dozen deputies and performs tasks such as serving paperwork and carrying out evictions.
