Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Gas prices continue to skyrocket in Nevada. According to AAA, the average price in Nevada for regular unleaded gasoline is $3.54 a gallon, an increase of 38 cents from January 8 of this year.

Officials blame nationwide refinery issues and a rise in crude oil prices for the higher costs.

While every state has seen an increase in gas prices, Nevada has seen one of the highest recent jumps.

Drivers in Sparks pay the most for gas in Nevada, an average of $3.74 a gallon. Drivers in North Las Vegas pay the least for gas in the state, an average of $3.43.

California currently pays the most in the continental U.S. for gas, $4.06 a gallon. Drivers in Wyoming pay the least, $3.07 a gallon.
