Vacant home catches fire on East Lake Mead Boulevard
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- A vacant home caught fire on East Lake Mead Boulevard on Friday morning.
Several neighbors called 911 to report the fire on the 5700 block at about 7:25 a.m.
When firefighters arrived, they found heavy smoke and fire coming from the home.
Fire authorities said crews have responded to fires at the same house three times over the last several months.
Clark County officials have issued a notice to the property owners of the home and say it may need to be demolished.
It's not clear what started the fire, but authorities say homeless people have entered the home previously and may have ignited the blaze by a warming fire or from smoking.
No one was injured in the fire.
Fire officials urge residents to call police if they suspect someone is illegally entering or occupying a vacant home.
