  • Sportco Kick-Off Classic softball tournament kicks off this weekend!  If you're ready to watch some girls get down and dirty, head on over to Eller Media Stadium this Friday, Saturday and Sunday on UNLV's campus.  Six teams will go head-to-head all weekend long.   • The Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art is honored to have the Andy Warhol, "Warhol Out West" exhibit on display now through October 27.  Get your tickets today and enjoy 59 works from The Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh. General admission is $16, Nevada residents are $13 and kids under 12 years are FREE.  Get a taste of culture in Las Vegas this weekend!

  • Studio One's Summerlin Dance Academy presents: Las Vega Dance Starz "Love is in the Air."  Tickets are on sale now for the dance extravaganza this Friday night at Cashman Field.  The show will include dancers from a local dance studio, professional dancers from the Las Vegas Strip, dancers from Joffrey Ballet and even Cirque du Soleil!  This is the first annual event and all proceeds go toward two children who could benefit from the financial assistance in the dance program!

  • The Men's basketball team over at UNLV is ready to take on New Mexico this Saturday.  Tip off is at 6pm at Thomas and Mack. Sport your scarlet and gray and watch the boys at home. Let's go, Rebels!

  • Chinese New Year is the most important holiday in the Chinese culture! This weekend, enjoy three days of FREE family fun in honor of the holiday. There's going to be a ton of events happening down on Fremont Street this Friday - Sunday. Events include: Ribbon cutting by Mayor Goodman, 5k run/walk, LV Spring Festival Parade, International Vendor Village and more. Enjoy Chinese New Year in the desert!

  • Friday, Saturday and Sunday is farmer's market heaven across the Valley!  This Friday, Fresh52 hosts a farmer's market at Whole Foods at Town Square from 3pm - 7pm.  Then, enjoy the market on Saturday at Tivoli Village from 8am - 1pm.  This is followed by a farmer's market on Sunday at Sansone Park from 8:30am - 1pm.  Enjoy the fresh produce, chef demos, activities for the kids and so much more. Ultimately, get our to the open air markets this weekend and enjoy a healthier way of life!

  • Help save lives by taking the "blood oath" at the Mob Museum.  If you register to donate your blood for a good cause this weekend, you get 2 complimentary ticekts to the museum!   • It's the 1st family-friendly pool party of the year! Take the Polar Bear Plunge this Saturday from 1pm - 4pm at the Henderson Mulitgenerational Activity pool. It's only $5 to participate and get this... there will be warm, winter treats fro everyone to enjoy. The pool is usually closed through out the winter season, but because this is Vegas, you can take a swim before summer rolls around!

  • The 2013 Las Vegas Pet Expo is going down this Saturday from 10am - 6pm. Admission is FREE at Cashman Center. If you're a pet lover, then this is the event for you! There will be so many fun pet-friendly things to do... get ready to play, shop, learn adopt and play some more! Learn more here

  • This Saturday and Sunday, you won't want to miss out on the Springs Preserve: Gardens Workshop. It's all about organic gardening these days and to get started, you'll need to know the basics.  From 8:30am - 10:30am, join the Springs Preserves and the 8-acre botanical gardens cared for by some of the bests!  This workshop is $10 for members and $15 for non-members.

  • It's a special day for Berkley Square Historic District, the first African-America housing subdivision here in Valley.  The public is invited to join Ward 5 Councilman Ricki Y. Barlow and the neighbors, residents and artists in the community.  This Saturday, at noon gather at the corner of F Street and Leonard Avenue for the unveiling and dedication of 34 banners.  These banners will recognize the Berkley Square Historic District as part of Black History Month.  

  • Get your rugby on this weekend!  It's three-days of the best rugby in North America.  Talk about a lot of rough play and the International Fan Festival. Gates open at sam Boyd Stadium Friday at 3pm, with a ton of events to look forward to all weekend long. Get the full schedule of events here.

Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- The weekend is here and good news, there's a whole lot of local-friendly events going on around town.

UNLV hosts the Sportco Kick-Off Classic Softball Tournament this weekend.  The women's first game is Friday at 3:45 p.m. against DePaul and they take on UCF on Saturday at 6:00 p.m. Get on over to Eller Media Stadium on UNLV campus. Kids under 12 are free of charge!
 
 
If bats, balls and bases isn't your idea of a fun-filled weekend, then let me tell you about a brand-new art exhibition in town. Andy Warhol, you know the great American artist known for his iconic celebrity and advertisement pop art? Well, lucky for us, the Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art will showcase 59 works from the Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh. This exhibit here in Las Vegas is the only comprehensive Andy Warhol collection in the country, outside of Pittsburgh.  If you've been looking for a premium cultural destination, "Warhol Out West" will blow you away. You have until October 27 to explore Warhol's work. 
 
And here's an event the kids will go wild for! It's time for the Polar Bear Plunge at the Henderson Multigenerational Activity Pool.  This event invites the Valley out for a chilly plunge down the slide. The pool is usually shut down all Winter long, but because we're a funky, crazy, fun city doors will open on Saturday (only) from 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. Those who attend will enjoy warm winter treats, activities and a bounce house. Admission is just $5 per person.
