Sparks truck driver accused of luring juveniles
RENO, Nev. (AP) -- A 65-year-old Sparks truck driver has been arrested on charges accusing him of trying to have sex with girls under the age of 16.
Washoe County sheriff's deputies arrested Carl "Wayne" Smith Tuesday night in Sparks. Authorities say two juvenile girls reported in December that Smith had touched them inappropriately.
Deputies say that since then, they've located two others who say he had physical contact with them too. Investigators seized evidence from his vehicles and his Sparks apartment that they say shows he had contact with the children.
His bail was set at $30,000 at the Washoe County Jail. He's being held on suspicion of two counts of luring a child, four counts of open and gross lewdness and two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
