Elderly man in motorized wheelchair hit while crossing street
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- An elderly man in a motorized wheelchair was hit by a car while crossing Craig Road, between Nellis Boulevard and Las Vegas Boulevard.
It happened around 7:45 p.m. Thursday.
Police say the man, who is in his 80s, was rushed to University Medical Center with very serious injuries.
According to investigators, the man was wearing dark clothes, while crossing in the dark -- outside of a marked crosswalk.
The woman behind the wheel of the white Honda that hit the man was very shaken up. Las Vegas police officers say she was not speeding and tried to avoid the crash.
