North Las Vegas names new fire chief
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- A new fire chief was named in North Las Vegas on Wednesday.
Jeff Buchanan was appointed to fill the post, replacing former chief Al Gillespie.
Buchanan will oversee a department of 168 employees and a $32.6 million budget.
Buchanan was named acting chief in July. Before that, he served as assistant fire chief. Buchanan has been with the North Las Vegas Fire Department since 2001.
Final approval was made at the North Las Vegas City Council meeting on Wednesday.
