Coroner identifies man killed Monday during home invasion
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- The Clark County coroner's office has identified the man shot and killed by a homeowner on Monday as 27-year-old Anthony C. Guerra.
According to Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, a call was received at 7:48 Feb. 4 from someone that stated that three people were attempting to forcibly gain entry into his house in the 2300 block of Westwind Road in the northwest part of the valley.
The 72-year-old homeowner, who had been a recent victim of burglary, went into his bedroom and got his gun.
As the suspects entered his bedroom, he fired at least one shot.
One of the intruders was killed. The other two attempted to flee. Police officers were able to apprehend one male suspect after a short foot chase.
The other suspect still has not been caught.
The investigation is still open. At this time, charges are not expected to be filed against the homeowner.
