Police arrest suspect in double homicide, troubled history revealed
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Las Vegas police have identified the man they believe is responsible for killing two people Sunday morning at an apartment complex on South Paradise Road as 57-year-old Keith Junior Barlow.
According to a police report, it is believed that Barlow killed the two victims because he was upset about the relationship between them.
The incident began early Sunday morning when police received a call about a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, 37-year-old Danielle Woods told police that her ex-boyfriend -- Keith Barlow -- had visited the apartment complex and threatened her with a stun gun.
He also had an argument with her new boyfriend -- 40-year-old Donnie Cobb -- but fled the area before police arrived.
Police officers took a report and attempted to locate Barlow but were unsuccessful.
About two hours later, numerous calls were received about gunshots coming from the apartment that Cobb and Woods occupied.
Responding officers discovered that the front door had been kicked in and Cobb and Woods were dead from multiple gunshot wounds in the apartment.
Evidence was gathered from the scene and police spoke to multiple witnesses, one of which was able to provide a description of a suspect that matched the general description of Barlow.
Police were able to apprehend Barlow on Feb. 4 at an apartment on North Nellis Boulevard and he was taken into custody without incident.
A records search revealed four events from 1997 between Barlow and Woods. One of the events was an attempted murder where Barlow shot at Woods and another individual in a vehicle.
Police also spoke to a niece of Woods who told them about a history of domestic violence between the couple.
The niece also told police that Woods had been seeing both Barlow and Cobb the last four months and that Barlow became increasingly upset.
Barlow has been charged with two counts of murder with a deadly weapon, burglary with a deadly weapon, assault with a deadly weapon, two counts of a prohibited person being in possession of a firearm, battery domestic violence and illegal use/possession of electronic stun device.
