Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Three more schools are now on the list for a major academic overhaul.

Cimarron-Memorial High School, Sunrise Mountain High School and Elizabeth Wilhelm Elementary School were named the Clark County School District's newest turnaround schools.

It's all part of a plan to revamp those three schools. Administrators hope transforming them into turnaround schools will help boost academic achievement, increase graduation rates and improve the quality of education for students.

Traditionally, under-performing schools are the ones chosen for the clean slate. A new principal will be brought in to each of the three schools to put together a team to spearhead the changes.

Principals for the three schools will be named in the coming weeks.
