Locals, tourists pack casinos and bars for Super Bowl
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- The big weekend for the big game is finally here and sports fans all over the Valley had only one thing in mind Sunday and that was football.
We keep hearing it over and over again, if you're not actually in New Orleans, Las Vegas is the next best place to watch the Super Bowl.
All over town casinos, bars and restaurants are hosting parties. More than 300,000 people are expected to come to town to watch the game.
Action News went out to the casinos Sunday and they were packed with fans taking advantage of specials and deals at the restaurants and sports books. Many people were lined up ready to make their last minute bets.
"It's working good. We're trying to do some research on the iPad, on the computer, on the phone trying to figure out the stats and everything, and then go in that long line over there," said 49ers fan Jeff Guarin.
The record for Super Bowl betting was $94.5 million in 2006 and books are expecting to surpass that total.
