Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- The Nobu Hotel at Caesars Palace is just days away from hosting its first guests. It will open Monday, Feb. 4. An official grand opening will take place in April.

It's named after celebrity chef Nobu Matsuhisa, who owns more than two dozen restaurants worldwide. A new Nobu restaurant will also open at Caesars on Monday.

The Nobu tower project has taken approximately two years.

There are 118 rooms at Nobu Hotel, most of them are king rooms featuring 55-inch TV screens and other luxury amenities.

"I think there's a very strong story that's woven into every part of this; It's not a celebrity chef plant-on," said the lead designer, David Rockwell.

Rockwell also designed the Cosmopolitan Hotel and the Kodak Theater in Los Angeles, among other notable projects.

"I think Las Vegas is a place that is always about reinvention," said Rockwell. "Hopefully this creates a place that will stick around for a long time, while things are reinvented around it. I think Vegas is one of those."

It could mean the local economy is looking at a comeback. The Nobu Hotel and adjoining restaurant have already given hundreds of people new jobs.

It's also no mistake the Nobu is decorated in Japanese style. It caters to the Asian demographic.

"The Asian market is a very good source of revenue for Las Vegas as a whole and we do want it to be personalized with that kind of service that they expect," says Nobu's general manager Gigi Vega.

The Nobu Hotel is not completely finished. They're still currently working on finishing 18 luxury suites.
