Man in hospital after being hit by motorcyclist while in crosswalk

North Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- A 69-year-old man was rushed to University Medical Center early Friday morning after being hit by a motorcyclist near the intersection at Lake Mead and Martin Luther King Boulevards.

The incident happened at about 1:45 a.m. Friday morning.

According to North Las Vegas police, the pedestrian was in a crosswalk at the time of the incident and motorcyclist did not see him until it was too late.

It is not believed that drugs or alcohol were involved but several citations were issued to the 22-year-old motorcyclist before he was released. He received citations for driving with no registration and no insurance and failure to yield to a pedestrian.

North Las Vegas police are describing the man's injuries as life threatening. They also said that additional charges could be filed against the motorcyclist.
