Large companies look for new employees during Luxor event
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Big names like UPS, MGM Resorts and U.S. Border Patrol are just some of the places looking to hire at a job fair being held at the Luxor.
A new number just released by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics takes into account part-timers who can't find full-time positions, and it puts Nevada's unemployment rate at a startling 20.3 percent.
That group is made up of people just like Gloria Perry, who has been in and out of work for several years.
"I think things will get better, but some of these companies have got to give us the opportunity," said Perry.
The job fair continues Thursday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. inside the Nile Rooms at the Luxor.
