Coroner: Man in crash died from heart condition
LAS VEGAS (AP) -- Authorities say a 77-year-old man who died after a car accident in a Las Vegas apartment complex parking lot suffered from medical conditions.
Clark County coroner's officials say the cause of Alan Miskin's death Friday was a heart condition called arterial sclerotic cardiovascular disease. They also cited diabetes as a possible contributing factor.
Police say Miskin's Toyota Camry was driving through the parking lot of the Palermo Apartments on Harmon Avenue about noon Friday when the vehicle struck an empty car and then a carport support structure.
He was taken to Spring Valley Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Police were initially unsure whether Miskin died as a result of the crash or from a medical episode.
