Suspect shot by jewelry store employee faces charges

Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- A robbery suspect shot by a jewelry store employee on Thursday evening is now facing charges.

Police say Antwjan McClelland, along with at least one other person, entered the jewelry store in the 7300 block of Sahara just before 5 p.m. Detectives believe McClelland was armed and attempted to rob the store, but an armed employee shot him in the arm.

McClelland was admitted to Sunrise Hospital with gunshot wounds a short time later. Police say he will face several charges including attempted murder with a deadly weapon and robbery with a deadly weapon.

Police are still searching a second suspect. He's described as 5-feet 9-inches tall and 160 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, gray sweatpants, a white baseball cap and white shoes.

A third person may have been involved, but police did not release a description or futher details.
