Mobile medical facility at Spring Valley Hospital closes
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- The mobile medical facility at Spring Valley Hospital closed on Wednesday.
The facility was opened to provide quick treatment for patients seeking emergency care.
The facility "was a great resource for our community and an excellent exercise in cooperation and execution," said Leonard Freehof, CEO and managing director of Spring Valley Hospital.
The facility was requested by Spring Valley Hospital to expedite care of emergency department patients who had less severe illness or injuries.
"Setting up the facility was a proactive step to make sure our community was ready for an overflow of patients. I'm very pleased with how all those involved worked together on this effort to the benefit of our community," said Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman.
"Even though the mobile medical facility is coming down, we're still in the middle of flu season and people should not let their guards down," said Clark County Commission Chair Steve Sisolak, who represents the area where the hospital is located.
Flu shots and frequent hand-washing are still advised.
