Attorney asks for money to help defend woman accused of killing 10-year-old girl
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- The lawyer for the woman accused of slashing a co-worker's face with razor blades and stabbing a 10-year-old girl multiple times is making a bizarre request.
Las Vegas attorney Tony Liker called a last-minute press conference on Thursday to talk about his client, Brenda Stokes Wilson.
Liker says that his client is innocent and that others are responsible for the death of the child.
Liker is also asking that the public help Stokes Wilson by donating to a fund for her legal costs.
According to the website, Liker believes that police "rushed to judgement" in the case and that there were other suspects in the case.
He also says that one of the early susepcts has an "extensive criminal history" while his client, Brenda Stokes Wilson, has "no criminal convictions whatsoever."
Liker also explains on the website that he has known Brenda for years and the blood evidence in the car that Brenda borrowed does not support the charges.
Jade Morris was last seen with Stokes Wilson on Dec. 21 when Stokes Wilson picked the little girl up to go Christmas shopping.
Later that night, Stokes Wilson was arrested for slashing a co-worker's face at the Bellagio.
Almost a week later, the body of Morris was found in a vacant lot in the northern part of the Valley.
