Police need tips on murder case of local 14-year-old boy

Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Police are asking for help from the public to get information on the death of 14-year-old Haji Mohamud.

Early Saturday morning, police received numerous calls of shots fired in an apartment complex in the 1400 block of East Reno Avenue near Maryland Parkway.

Mohamud was found dead and an 18-year-old male was taken to UMC with gunshot wounds. The 18-year-old is expected to survive.

Police say up to 20 shots were fired after a birthday party ended.

Metro says they have interviewed nearly 40 people, but so far those interviews have not led to any arrests. 

Based on physical evidence collected on scene, police say there may have been three shooters.
