Las Vegas hospital to host free car seat installation event
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- In the wake of a fatal crash that killed a 3-year-old girl, a Las Vegas hospital is offering a free event to educate parents on car seat safety.
Police said Emily Kay was riding in a booster seat, rather than a car seat with a built-in harness, when the crash happened Monday afternoon.
Children's Hospital of Nevada at UMC is offering parents free car seat safety inspections and installations.
On Friday, Jan. 18 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., the hospital will offer the installation check point at 1800 West Charleston Boulevard.
During the event, parents can bring their cars in for a free installation for their child's car seat.
Limited quantities of car seats will also be available for parents who are not able to afford the appropriate seat for their child.
