Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- City leaders in Las Vegas are hoping some new parking meters will make it a lot easier to get in and out of the downtown area.

"The new meters are going to have larger screens," said Brandy Stanley, Parking Services Manager. "They're going to take debit, credit and coin and they will have the potential for a lot of future upgrades."

The meters will even let you use a mobile device to look for available parking in real time.

The new plan also calls for the removal of 111 metered spaces to open up more free parking.

If approved tomorrow by the City Council, the meters could be installed by May.
