Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- The family of 3-year-old Emily Kay, who was killed in a crash on Monday, is talking about the tragic loss.

Action news spoke with Emily's soon-to-be stepmom, Ashley Orr. She says little Emily loved the color purple, was a smart toddler and was very resilient.

Emily was riding with her father when they were involved in a crash on Pebble and Eastern. Emily's dad, Casey, remains hospitalized with trauma to both legs and bleeding in his brain.

"It was just the impact, the force of her body and Casey's both, going and just coming to such a sudden stop that internally she couldn't make it," said Orr.

Orr is engaged to Emily's father, and thought of 3-year-old Emily as her only child.

Now, the toddler's playroom is a stinging reminder of how things have forever changed.

Now, the family is remembering her as a beautiful young girl.

Donations for the family are being collected at the Chili's on Rainbow and the 215, where Casey works.
