Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) - The recent gun control legislation out of New York may further ignite an already booming firearm industry. Right now guns are selling at an unprecedented pace.

"Depending on some of the different firearms, you're seeing an increase of 300 to 1000 percent over prior years, so there is a huge demand," said Justin Michaels, Co-Owner of the Strip Gun Club.

The gun debate has ignited sales across the country. So much so, manufacturers can't make them fast enough.

Michaels doesn't predict any future Nevada legislation restricting gun ownership. "We're a pretty gun friendly state," he said. His customers rather worry more about gun control legislation on the federal level.

"With all the talk of the legislation people are just starting to buy whatever they can," said Michaels.

He doesn't believe his business would be in trouble if stricter gun laws were put in place. It could actually help, if the amount of foreign foot traffic, into his gun range, is any indication.

"If you're from a country where firearms are illegal we're having a lot of tourists coming in from foreign countries to shoot."

"We don't have that kind of stuff in Montreal or in Canada so we come here. It's a chance for us to try it," said Pascal Ohogue, a tourist from Canada.

But trying it is enough for Ohogue. He agrees with the strict gun laws in his country.

"We don't have this mentality in Canada," he said.
