Sen. Harry Reid discusses debt ceiling with Action News
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid chimed in on the debt ceiling issue Monday.
Action News sat down with the democratic senator, who said even he sent a letter to President Obama, advising him not to back down on the debt ceiling.
Reid said these are past debts that must be paid, "We know that there is a spending problem in this country. We know we have to do a better job of balancing of what we have, but to use the debt ceiling as some kind of leverage to say okay, we'll work with you. But if you don't work with us, we aren't going to pay the debt."
Senator Reid has had a two-week break and is heading back to Washington, D.C. to be there for President Obama's inauguration.
