Pedestrian dies after struck by car near Rampart & Lake Mead
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- A woman was struck by a PT Cruiser near the intersection of North Rampart and West Lake Mead Boulevards in the northwest part of the Valley.
It happened around 10:50 a.m. Monday morning.
Evidence showed the 86-year-old female pedestrian from Las Vegas, was trying to cross Lake Mead, not in a marked crosswalk.
The PT Cruiser was exiting a private driveway, on the north side of Lake Mead. As it turned eastbound on Lake Mead, it entered the inside travel lane, and hit the pedestrian.
The woman was transported to University Medical Center Trauma where she later died. Her name has not been released.
Three of the eastbound lanes of Lake Mead were closed while Las Vegas police investigated the accident.
