Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Police are investigating a large-scale marijuana grow operation inside a home in southwest Las Vegas.

The smell of marijuana wafted throughout the neighborhood near Fort Apache and Hacienda on Friday afternoon as police confiscated hundreds of plants.

Authorities had to force entry into the home, and found no occupants inside. Police say they will work to determine who was associated with the operation.

"Right now our focus is to gather the evidence and clean up the home," one detective said on scene.

There were marijuana plants in every single room of the home, police said. Officers worked into the night, carrying out large lamps and equipment used to grow the plants.

Suspicious neighbors tipped off police to the existence of the grow operation.

Just how long the operation had been under way was not immediately clear.

Friday's bust is the second large-scale grow house raid this week. On Wednesday, police made a record-breaking bust at a home near Fort Apache and Desert Inn. Two suspects were arrested in that case.
