Top FBI agent in Vegas retires to head nonprofit
LAS VEGAS (AP) -- The top FBI agent in Las Vegas has retired after 29 years with the bureau to head a nonprofit youth golf leadership program in Henderson.
Kevin Favreau says his last day was Jan. 3.
He figures that at 51, he's still young.
And he says that as executive director of First Tee of Southern Nevada he'll enjoy teaching youngsters life lessons and core values.
Favreau was special agent in charge of counterintelligence for the FBI Washington, D.C., field office and assistant director of intelligence before arriving in Las Vegas in January 2010.
His first day he headed the investigation of a gunman shot dead after killing a security guard and wounding a U.S. marshal at the Lloyd D. George U.S. Courthouse and Federal Building in downtown Las Vegas.
