Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Right now, there are thousands of people freezing, waking up every morning on the streets of Las Vegas.
But a small group of people, who call themselves Project Aqua, are trying to make Las Vegas a better place to live for at least some who call the streets home.
Project Aqua is a group of friends, who felt compelled to give water to people on the streets.
"Aqua is a metaphor for trying to bring a drop of hope in the desert."
What started as weekly water deliveries, has turned into daily deliveries of food, blankets and sometimes dog food for the pets.
But more than that, these servants know most of the people they serve by name. They give hugs freely, and they listen to people who typically have no voice.
Project Aqua volunteers want people to know that some homeless aren't candidates for permanent housing or shelters. For various reasons, they prefer camping. But in Las Vegas, that's illegal.
It's a complicated issue, but in the meantime, Project Aqua continues to help out.
