Beauty center raises money for family of Jade Morris
North Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- A local hair salon held a fundraiser for the family of Jade Morris.
GranNz's Beauty Center in North Las Vegas began raising money Sunday afternoon.
They're donating $20 of each $99 weave service to the family. They're also accepting donations.
The owner of the salon said the response has been more than she expected.
"I just want to bring the community together and I just kind of want to give back and be able to do my part and just be able to help out, which ever way I can," said Sumayah Hodges, owner of GranNz's.
"This tragedy affected us all, I'm still hurt behind it. So I just felt like I had to give back and show my support," expressed customer Tasha Austin.
The fundraiser will continue until Wednesday, Jan. 9.
10-year-old Jade was found stabbed to death in a dirt lot.
Her funeral service is scheduled for Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the Bread of Life Ministries.
It will be open to the public.
