Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Catholic Radio is now live in Las Vegas.

Immaculate Heart Radio has expanded its broadcast of commercial-free Catholic Radio to the Las Vegas Valley.

The 24-hour broadcast is now playing on AM 970.

The channel launched Saturday afternoon at Guardian Angel Cathedral.

"When we started our first station, 16 years ago in Reno, it was only the seventh Catholic Radio station in the whole country. Now, we have 28 Catholic Radio stations for Immaculate Heart Radio in five western states. But Las Vegas was one of the only major cities that didn't have Catholic Radio," explained Doug Sherman, president of Immaculate Heart Radio.

Los Angeles is another large market without Catholic Radio. Sherman said they're now looking to launch there as well.
