Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- They always seem to come at the worst times and make you want to throw your phone across the room.
But, take a breath, suppress the urge to be destructive and check this out.
You can turn that frustration into cash.
The Federal Trade Commission is currently running a contest to find a solution to block the pesky calls on both landlines and cellphones.
The winning submission will make someone $50,000 richer and earn that person a trip to Washington, D.C., to present the solution to the FTC.
So far, submissions include a 24-hour hotline to report robocalls and blacklists to block repeat offenders.
Even though the FTC has a "Do Not Call List," robocalls still get through because a company is allowed to call any of their customers who have purchased anything from them in the last 18 months.
You can submit your solution right here.
The deadline is Jan. 17 and the winner will be announced on April 15.
