Police: Handful of arrests among Vegas revelers
LAS VEGAS (AP) -- Police say they'd counted only a handful of arrests amid the hundreds of thousands of people celebrating New Year's in Las Vegas.
Officers say they'd arrested six people on the Las Vegas Strip by 2 a.m. Tuesday, including two for domestic violence.
They also reported a disturbance inside the Circus Circus casino involving a man with a weapon. Authorities say 20-year-old North Las Vegas resident Manuel Garciahill was taken into custody by casino security officers with the help of two tourists.
Police say nobody was injured, but Garciahill was arrested on weapons charges.
Officers downtown reported about 10 misdemeanor arrests, and police counted 10 drunken driving arrests associated with the celebration.
One man was injured when a round, apparently from celebratory gunfire, entered his mobile home in the northeast valley.
