Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- A massive and spectacular fireworks display dazzled revelers on the Las Vegas Strip as the new year began.
Fireworks were launched at midnight from the rooftops of seven Strip properties: MGM Grand, Aria, Planet Hollywood, Caesars Palace, Treasure Island, The Venetian and the Stratosphere.
More than 80,000 fireworks were launched in the display, named "America's Party."
The Grucci Company puts on the fireworks show in Las Vegas each year. Officials with the company said they began planning this year's event just days after last year's New Year's Eve celebration.
The highly-anticipated event drew an estimated 330,000 visitors to Las Vegas, pumping in hundreds of millions into the local economy.
Visitors didn't just stick to the Strip. Just down the road, the "Downtown Countdown" drew thousands of revelers to the Fremont Street Experience.
The downtown event featured live performances, a 2012 recap and a broadcast of the fireworks show on the massive overhead screen.
Las Vegas police said most people celebrating were well behaved. Just three arrests were made on the Strip before midnight. An incident involving a weapon near Circus Circus led to one of those arrests, but no one was injured.
Downtown, about 10 misdemeanor arrests were made before midnight.
