Revelers head to Fremont Street Experience for eclectic New Year's Eve

Thousands of revelers will celebrate the start of 2013 at the Fremont Street Experience.
The party opens to the public at 6 p.m. and goes until 3 a.m. The Downtown Countdown features concerts and street performers. People said they like going to Fremont Street for the eclectic crowds.
"I think Fremont is friendly and more welcoming," showgirl Amber Moss said. "It's not as big and overwhelming."
Moss welcomes tourists from all over the world, who come downtown for the street celebration.
"We're going to gamble, we're going to party and socialize," said Leni Barnum who is visiting from Wyoming.
Bands performing include Buckcherry, Queensryche, Quiet Riot and Pop Evil.
Mayor Carolyn Goodman will lead in a midnight countdown and fireworks will be shown on the massive overhead screen.
