Local group searches for missing 10-year-old girl in desert area
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- A search for a missing 10-year-old girl by the Red Rock Search & Rescue group has been called off.
10-year-old Jade Morris went missing Dec. 21 after leaving with a family friend to go shopping.
That person, Brenda Stokes, was arrested later that day after attacking a co-worker at the Bellagio hotel-casino.
The group concentrated its search efforts on a desert area close to where Jade's mother lives.
However, the search was temporarily called off after the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department announced the discovery of a body in the northeast part of the valley.
LVMPD has not positively identified the body as Jade Morris at this time.
