Police cancel press conference about missing girl
UPDATE: The press conference has been cancelled per Las Vegas police.
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department has called a press conference at 1:30 p.m. today about the missing 10-year-old Jade Morris.
Morris went missing on Dec. 21. She was last seen with Brenda Stokes, the woman that was arrested later that day for allegedly attacking her co-worker at the Bellagio with two razor blades.
Morris was last seen in the area of Martin Luther King Boulevard and Alta Drive. Stokes had picked up the girl to take her shopping at the Las Vegas Premium Outlets near downtown Las Vegas.
Stokes made her first court appearance Wednesday morning. Morris' parents were in attendance and Jade's father was escorted from the courtroom after he began yelling at Stokes.
Stokes was driving a 2007 red four-door Saab at the time of Morris' disappearance.
The Red Rock Search & Rescue group joined the efforts to locate Morris this morning. They have set up a command center near Wigwam Parkway and Rainbow Boulevard and say that they are looking for volunteers.
Action News will have a crew at the press conference and will update this story with new information as soon as it becomes available.
