Neighbor says California Christmas display more suited for Las Vegas
(KTNV) -- A California woman's Christmas display featuring 65,000 lights has some neighbors seeing red.
The lights on Jan Stewart's home are synchronized with music and draws hundreds of people each night.
This is the second year that Stewart has covered her home in lights. She says that she is doing it in memory of her late husband.
Not everyone is happy about the display though. Some neighbors have complained to the local police.
"It's more appropriate for the Las Vegas Strip than for a residential area. Most of the houses do have Christmas decorations. We're not opposed to that. But, it's just very, very bright; very intrusive," said one such neighbor.
Stewart has been ticketed for noise and turns it down by 9 p.m. each night. But, the crowd keeps coming to enjoy the show.
Some of the neighbors say that they want to go to city council to get an ordinance passed that would keep the number of lights that could be used in check.
