Shoppers crowd malls for last minute gifts
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- With the hours ticking by before Christmas, the Miracle Mile Shops is just one of several malls filling up with shoppers.
This shopping center is expecting to bring in millions of dollars this weekend before Christmas with the retail stores, restaurants and shows. Because it's on the Strip, this shopping center has a strong mix of tourists and locals getting their last minute gifts.
People say they are coming here because it has a good variety of national retail chains and local shops. Around the Valley, stores are enticing last minute shoppers with sales and promotions. A lot of shoppers say this year their budget has increased compared to years past.
"I did really good. I haven's bought much of anything, but I know our family has spent a large amount," says Arizona native Gabriella Pridie.
"You think it would be overpriced because it's Vegas, but not at all. Things are pretty cheap," says another Christmas shopper, Tale Bausinger.
Many stores are extending their hours for the holiday. At the Miracle Mile Shops they're not cutting hours, but instead staying open on Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day. Other stores like Kohl's, Toys R' Us, and J.C. Penny are staying open around the clock until Christmas Eve.
