Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- A new water park taking shape in southwest Las Vegas is calling on the community to help name its wave pool.

Construction is just now starting on Wet 'n' Wild Las Vegas, located on Fort Apache near Warm Springs. It's scheduled to open Memorial Day Weekend 2013.

Workers poured cement on Thursday morning and developers say the slides and other attractions are being built off-site.

In the meantime, the wave pool needs a new name, and you can help.

The contest to name the new wave pool started Thursday. You can enter any time until January 13 by emailing ContestsWetnWildLV@gmail.com. Entries should include your name, Facebook or Twitter username, address and phone number.

The five best submissions will be posted to the Wet 'n' Wild Las Vegas Facebook page where fans can "like" their favorite. The name with the most "likes" on January 20 will be the winner.

The winning entrant will receive a Family 4 Pack of Gold Passes and a VIP experience for the entire family during the opening weekend including a complimentary cabana, all you can drink fountain soda beverages, meals and more. Each of the five finalists will receive a pair of single day admission tickets to the park.
