Local man suing Clark County for $10 million
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- A local man is suing Clark County for $10 million for allegedly wrongfully keeping him away from his children for several months.
Victor Fakoya says the District Attorney's office re-filed a CPS case against him in Family Court with the same facts used in a previous criminal case against Fakoya.
Fakoya was a suspect in the 2008 death of his roommate's son. He was eventually acquitted of all charges.
Fakoya says the D.A.'s office and CPS refused to accept the verdict.
"It is an experience that I don't think any human being should ever have," comments Fakoya.
Fakoya says he's moved on with his life but the scars are still deep, claiming he can never regain the lost time with his family.
The federal civil rights lawsuit against Clark County was filed Tuesday.
A Clark County spokesperson says it's not their procedure to comment on pending legislation.
