Officer shoots gun-wielding man in Moapa
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- A police officer shot and killed a gun-wielding man in Moapa on Sunday evening.
Authorities were called to the Moapa Paiute Travel Plaza at exit 75 off Interstate 15 at about 7 p.m. responding to reports of a disturbance.
When they arrived, they found a man who was believed to be a suspect in a shooting on Saturday at the Moapa River Indian Reservation.
The man reportedly became combative with police. One officer deployed his Taser, which was ineffective.
A physical altercation ensued and police said the man pointed a gun at an officer. That's when the officer fired a gun at the man.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The officers involved were not injured.
The man shot has not yet been identified.
