Woman killed in apartment fire near Valley View and Sahara identified
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- The woman killed in an apartment fire on Friday night has been identified.
She was 66-year-old Carol Sue Krassell of Las Vegas.
Krassell died of carbon monoxide poisoning and smoke inhalation, according to the Clark County Coroner's Office.
The blaze started at the Sunrise Garden Apartments near Valley View and Sahara just before 9 p.m.
Firefighters arriving on scene found eight units engulfed in flames.
Krassell was found unresponsive and later pronounced dead at University Medical Center.
The damage was estimated at $200,000.
Investigators believe careless smoking caused the blaze.
