Reno, NV (KTNV) -- The FAA is investigating the crash of a twin-engine aircraft.

Ian Gregor of the FAA said the plane was on its way from Mesa, Ariz. to the Portland-Troutdale Airport in Oregon.

It crashed about 19 miles southeast of Ely, Nev.

The investigation is in its early stages so the circumstances surrounding the crash are not yet known.

Gregor said investigators believe two people were on board the plane when it crashed.

According to early reports, local officials reached the crash site Sunday and found victims but were unable to identify exactly how many.
