Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- People all over the country have turned to religion in the wake of this tragedy.
Many of them here in Las Vegas attended church Sunday to find answers.
People were turning to their faith, no matter what it is, to make sense of this senseless act.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Summerlin started out their congregation asking that everyone keep those affected by the Connecticut shooting in their hearts and prayers.
At Central Christian, church members said there were more people than usual as their services.
Much of the prayers were focused on the victims and their families Sunday. "We're taking some time to pray specifically for those families and during our message time, we're specifically talking about what happened and how could this happen," explained Jon Bodin, campus pastor.
President Obama met privately with the families of the victims Sunday morning and also spoke at an Interfaith Prayer Vigil Sunday evening.
